Site and Staff Applications Renewal

As is apparent, the site has been suffering a bit over the last couple months due to my own inability to keep up and the personal lives of a lot of the previous staff members. Now that I have time to keep up on things, and our server has gone back up, with a good outlook on further advancements soon, I thought now was a good time to get things rolling from a fresh start.

The front site has been removed for an indefinite amount of time, until I can get a small, solid team together who will be willing to keep things going with me as we work toward bringing up new servers, new members, and an overall better activity level for FFG.

The previous thread has been removed, and we'll be starting again from ground up. Please realize everyone is welcome to apply regardless of experience, if you're willing to learn and put time in, I'm willing to help you do so.

Please post the following:
  • Position interest
  • Experience (if any)
    If applicable:
  • What systems (if any) you own and would be writing news/previews/reviews for
Available Positions

Site news team - Provides constant news updates for FFG on new and upcoming games and the gaming/PC industry as a whole. Need to be reliable and write well. Need to have basic understanding of html (breaks, paragraphs, links) or be willing to learn it. You will be required to post at least two full news updates a week, so please only apply if you actively watch and keep up with games.

Site review and demo team - Provides reviews, demo footage if a demo is available, and any further information on new games. Need to be reliable and write well. Need to have basic understanding of html (breaks, paragraphs, links) or be willing to learn it. You will be required to post a number of reviews dependent on the games released every month, and of course, you are required to have access to a full copy of a game if you are reviewing it.

Graphics team - Provide customized graphics for the site on request. Need to have either experience with photo editing software, experience with CSS, or both. You will required to do on request work for the site, including but not limited to banners, buttons, posters, site skins, etc. We will accept applicants who only have experience in some areas, but please be knowledgeable at what you do know.

General Requirements
  • Understanding of IRC to meet and discuss site updates/news with staff when necessary
  • Availability to do so 2-3 evenings a week if necessary
  • Active interest in gaming/PCs and related media and materials
  • Productive thinking and a helpful mindset to helping FFG grow

*note* - Aerabax, Kingdino, Orange. I still have your drops for the FFG logo, and am impressed with them. I'd like to talk to you guys about furthering with GFX staff if you're still interested, please PM or message me, or post here.

Skills:
-Dreamweaver (lollazywoman)
- HTML/CSS
- Literate, meaning yes. I -can- write articles on games =/ Only problem is I'd probably would do one every so often, so not that consistent.

I can lend a hand to pretty much whatever needs to be helped on. I suck at photoshop, so graphics are out. But if you need help in any of the things listed above, I can try my best. -nod-

TL;DR: Blues fucked the server and short-circuited it.

Something like that. Having people helping with coding/template and site updates is always useful, but the more important part here at the moment is an actual articles/content team, as I'm generally okay working on backend stuff myself. Of course, the help would always be appreciated and it's good to know I've got some who know it off the bat.

so... we doing anything with this?

Blues 02-22-2010 10:50 PM

I got a total of three people who responded, two of whom are never online or available through messenger/steam/etc.

That being said, no, nothing will happen with the site until I find reliable staff.

Luda 03-01-2010 04:52 AM
