Default Video Game Prices?

Well apparently this is a very "Hot Topic" lol but it seems like the pricing of video games might/may not change. Meaning that in the future, if it happens, you will no longer pay $49.99 but pay $5.00 to nothing on a new game. However you will have to pay micro-transactions to get more play time or get more/free content faster without unlocking them.

Do you think this is a good idea that the gaming industry needs to follow or is it just ruining the system?

Would you like to Pay to play? Or Pay to get better?

I'd support the current system IF they didn't charge an arm and a leg for a game with little to no replay value, and THEN cripple actual paying customers with DRM that any old pirate gets around with a few clicks of the mouse.

I can't imagine micro-transactions working in a MP game while keeping the balance, and for single player games it'd be a slap in the face.

Yeah, it would lead to situations where you pick up a game three years later and then have to pay full price or more to get all the shit they added so you can play with everyone else that still plays it. Game prices should be around 30$ in my opinion. I think the sales steam offers should prove that.

$30 would me much more reasonable, I agree.

Fuck that noise, I pay for a game once, and then I'm done. That's why I don't play MMOs, and never will.

Difference between this and MMOs (I'll use WoW as an example)--

With this, if Blizzard would release a new raid, you'd probably have to pay even more money (on top of the per month fee), for it. As it is now, the only thing you need to buy EXTRA is expansions.

So no. Fuck that noise, indeed.

Um expansions are the same thing, just a little bit of a bigger scale, of course they come to pretty much the same price as the game was originally instead of a tenth of the price. Pretty much I want to play the game for at least one hour for every dollar I paid for it, or I feel like the game was a waist.
